Decent Energy Secures £225K Pre-Seed Funding to Launch Shîfter, Helping Households Cut Energy Costs and Carbon

London, UK – July 1st, 2025 — Decent Energy, the climate tech startup seeking to slash energy bills and carbon emissions, has closed a £225,000 pre-seed funding round based on its smart approach to energy demand shifting and efficiency. The round was led by private investors, including Ben Grinnell, Andrew Hayhurst, and technology partner ELEKS.
The funding will accelerate the development and market launch of Shifter, Decent Energy’s flagship product, designed to help users shift their energy usage to cheaper, greener times, enabling the shift to electrified heat, shifting people out of fuel poverty and shifting our energy use to cheaper, cleaner times. The company aims to onboard over 1,000 users in the next 12 months onto its Shifter platform and begin developing its Demand Side Management and Peer-to-Peer Energy Trading Products.

He has always been at the forefront of technology advances from the DevOps movement to AI and recently has worked with OpenAI and Anthropic writing papers on the current challenges in enterprise AI which will be published in July and showcased at the Technology Leaders Enterprise Summit in Las Vegas in September.

- ELEKS: An international software engineering and consulting firm from Ukraine has provided capital and provides software development and consultancy services to enterprises worldwide.
