From Cambridge to Leeds, Amsterdam and back again
A busy few weeks for Decent Energy

Reaching the final at Reset Connect North
Earlier this month, Decent Energy was selected as a finalist at Reset Connect North’s Pitch & Invest Programme in Leeds. After winning the Energy Sector round, our Founder & MD Tom Cox pitched in the final against leading startups from across multiple sectors. We were up against some fantastic competition, and would like to offer huge congratulations to the grand finalists, METADATAWORKS 👏🏻
Speaking on Energy Dependency in Cambridge
Following on from this, last week Tom contributed to the conversation as a guest speaker at ‘How Resilient is Cambridge? Re: Energy’ - the fourth event in the series hosted by Resilience Web CIC. Joining speakers Sheryl French from Cambridge Climate Ltd and Paul Kershaw from the Cambridge Retrofit Hub, they discussed and answered questions on energy dependency in the city Cambridge.
Heading to Amsterdam with Climate Tech SuperCluster
This week, Decent Energy is heading to Amsterdam to take part in Cleantech Venture Day, part of the Climate Tech SuperCluster series connecting London, Paris and Amsterdam.
The event brings together startups, investors, corporates and public-sector leaders focused on scaling real-world climate solutions.
Tom will be pitching in the Building Tech & Energy session at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, between 12-1pm.
Back in Cambridge: Power Station screening and Q&A
On to next week, Decent Energy will be taking part in a Q&A panel following a screening of the film Power Station by Dan Edelstyn and Hilary Powell. Hosted by Cambridge Retrofit Hub and the Centre for Climate Repair, alongside a number of local climate and community organisations, the event will include a pre-screening community meal, followed by the film and Q&A (7:15-9:30pm), with Tom joining the panel of speakers.
It’s been a busy and rewarding few weeks for Decent Energy, connecting with like-minded innovators, partners and communities across the climate tech industry, and we’re looking forward to what’s next!
